This Privacy Policy describes how Lookymart ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit lookymart.com or use any of our services. By using Lookymart, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — when you sign in via Google, we receive your email address and basic profile (name, profile picture). We do not receive your Google password.
- Content you post — community-feed posts, replies, marketplace listings, classifieds, voice memos, profile information, and uploaded images.
- Phone numbers you submit — when you use a feature that texts a friend, you submit that friend's mobile number along with a consent confirmation. See SMS Consent for details.
- Payment information — when you make a purchase, payments are processed by Stripe; we receive a transaction ID and the amount but never your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL.
- Cookies and local storage — to remember your sign-in, count anonymous trial chats, store UI preferences, and show or hide the welcome banner. These are not used for cross-site tracking.
- Server logs — standard web server logs retained for security and debugging, typically 30 days.
2. How we use information
- To provide the service (sign-in, posting, marketplace, chat with AI personas, voice memos, classifieds search, sitcom and news delivery).
- To send messages you have explicitly requested (e.g., SMS shares to a friend's phone).
- To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse (chat trial counts, post-rate caps, scam detection).
- To improve the service through aggregate, non-identifying analytics.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information.
Lookymart does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — including phone numbers entered for SMS sharing — to any third party for marketing purposes. Ever.
3. Third-party services we use
Some features rely on third-party services. When you use those features, the relevant data passes through them under their privacy policies:

4. AI-generated content
Many features on Lookymart (sitcom episodes, news segments, persona chat replies, classifieds verdicts) are generated by AI models. These outputs are produced from your inputs and our prompts, and are intended for entertainment and informational purposes. AI-generated content is not professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise).
5. Data retention
- Account data — retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
- Public content (posts, listings, classifieds) — retained until you delete it or your account is removed.
- Chat history — only the most recent messages are kept in memory to provide context; older history is not persisted server-side.
- Phone numbers used for SMS shares — used for the message you initiated and not stored beyond what is needed to deliver and (where applicable) honor opt-out.
- Opt-out lists — phone numbers that have replied STOP are retained indefinitely so we can honor that opt-out across the service.
- Server logs — typically 30 days.
6. SMS messaging specifics
When a Lookymart user enters a friend's phone number to share an episode or news segment:
- The user must check a consent box affirming the friend has agreed to receive a single message.
- We send exactly one MMS containing a 60-second audio teaser and a link to the full content.
- Every message includes "Reply STOP to opt out." STOP replies are honored automatically and immediately.
- We never re-send to the same recipient unless they explicitly reply with a subscription keyword (e.g., "SITCOM").
- Phone numbers are not used for any purpose other than the specific message the user requested.

7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of marketing or non-essential communications
- Withdraw consent (e.g., reply STOP to any SMS)

8. Children's privacy
Lookymart is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information — HTTPS for all traffic, hashed admin credentials, restricted server access, and rate-limited APIs. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the homepage and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of Lookymart after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
